THE CHALLENGE
There was no real-time visibility for school administration into attendance status across classrooms. Attendance registers were compiled manually and submitted periodically - meaning absenteeism patterns and compliance issues were only visible after significant delay.
-
Manual roll call consumed teaching time
5-10 minutes lost per session across every classroom for attendance marking.
-
Proxy and error risk in manual marking
No verification that the student marked present was physically in the classroom.
-
No real-time admin visibility
School administration had no live view of attendance status across classrooms during the school day.
-
Multi-row classroom coverage complexity
Students seated across multiple rows at varying distances and angles required multi-camera deployment to ensure every face was captured accurately.
THE SOLUTION
We deployed a multi-camera face recognition system inside each classroom, with the number of cameras scaled to class size to ensure full row coverage. The system captures and recognises student faces multiple times during each session - automatically marking attendance without any teacher intervention. Attendance data is pushed in real time to both the teacher dashboard and school admin view.
Flow: Classroom cameras capture student faces -> Face matched against enrolled database -> Attendance marked automatically -> Updated multiple times per session -> Real-time view on teacher and admin dashboard
-
Cameras deployed per classroom based on class size - covering all rows and seating positions for complete recognition coverage.
-
Attendance marked automatically with no teacher intervention required at any point during the session.
-
Face recognition runs multiple times per session - capturing late arrivals and flagging mid-session absenteeism.
-
Real-time teacher dashboard shows live attendance status per student per session.
-
The school admin dashboard provides an institution-wide attendance view across all classrooms simultaneously.
