AI-Powered Perimeter Monitoring Deployed to Detect and Deter Unauthorised Entry at Oil & Gas Facility

An unauthorised entry incident at the facility prompted the decision to deploy an automated perimeter monitoring system. The existing CCTV infrastructure recorded footage but had no intelligence layer - intrusions were only identified during retrospective review, by which time the unauthorised person was already inside the facility. In an Oil & Gas environment, unauthorised perimeter entry carries significant safety and security consequences. An unfamiliar person in an active plant zone - near pipelines, machinery, or chemical storage - creates immediate risk for themselves and facility personnel. The gap between entry and detection was the critical problem that needed to be closed.
