Managing safety and zone compliance across a student hostel facility with separate boys and girls wards is a continuous and largely thankless task for wardens. Wrong gender entries, unknown visitors, blacklisted students, and curfew violations happened without any reliable detection mechanism in place.
Night hours presented the highest risk. Students in the wrong ward, unauthorised overnight guests, and curfew violations were all invisible to wardens until a complaint was raised or a physical check happened to catch someone. By that point the violation had already occurred - sometimes repeatedly over many nights.
