THE CHALLENGE
Weighbridge operations had the same problem. Weight was recorded manually with no linkage to the vehicle plate - meaning gross and tare weights could be manipulated or attributed to the wrong vehicle entirely. The full material dispatch process depended on manual honesty at every step.
-
Bike plates misused on trucks and tractors
Two-wheeler plates used on commercial vehicles - undetectable through manual checking.
-
Damaged and non-standard plates unreliable
Dirty or faded plates made accurate manual identification inconsistent at gate.
-
No M Parivahan vehicle type verification
No automated check to confirm plate matched correct vehicle type.
-
Manual weight entry prone to manipulation
Gross and tare weights recorded manually with no plate linkage - opportunity for fraudulent entries.
-
Gross and tare discrepancy undetected
No automated cross-check between weights - discrepancies went unnoticed.
-
Unauthorised vehicle types entering
Cars and bikes entered without automated type verification at gate.
THE SOLUTION
We deployed an ANPR system at the facility gate that captures every vehicle plate on entry and exit. Each plate is cross-checked against M Parivahan in real time to verify vehicle type - only trucks and tractors permitted. The system integrates with the weighbridge, linking every gross and tare weight recording to the verified plate and flagging any discrepancy automatically.
Flow: Vehicle approaches -> Plate captured -> M Parivahan check -> Unauthorised type denied -> Authorised vehicle to weighbridge -> Gross weight linked to plate -> Exit tare recorded -> Cross-checked automatically -> Full transaction logged
-
ANPR at entry and exit - plate captured automatically on every vehicle movement.
-
Real-time M Parivahan cross-check - vehicle type verified before entry permitted.
-
Unauthorised types denied entry automatically - no manual gate decision required.
-
Weighbridge integration links every weight recording directly to verified plate.
-
Automated gross and tare cross-check - discrepancy flagged immediately for review.
