THE CHALLENGE

Managing member and guest access across a large premium club facility - spanning badminton courts, pickleball, table tennis, swimming pool, restaurants, and multiple recreational zones - was entirely dependent on manual ID checks at entry. Once inside, there was no mechanism to verify whether members or guests were accessing permitted zones, whether guest visit limits were being respected, or whether any access rules were being followed.
Guest management was especially complex. Each guest had defined visit frequency limits, permitted zone access, and accompanying member rules - none of which could be enforced manually at scale across a large multi-zone facility. The club needed a system that could verify identity, enforce a complex rule engine, and manage both members and guests seamlessly across all zones.
  • Manual ID verification at entry

Gate staff manually checked IDs with no automated verification - prone to error and inconsistency.

  • No guest rule enforcement

Guest visit frequency limits, zone restrictions, and accompanying member rules could not be enforced after entry.

  • No zone-level access control

Members and guests could access any area of the facility with no verification of zone-specific permissions.

  • No integration with existing membership system

Member and guest data existed in Shawman but could not be leveraged for real-time access control or rule enforcement.

  • Scale and complexity of multi-zone facility

Dozens of zones across sports, recreation, and dining required a unified system that could enforce different rules per zone per member type.

THE SOLUTION

We deployed a combined face recognition system across the facility - integrating both FRT at entry points and camera-based face recognition across internal zones. The system connects directly with Shawman for member and guest enrollment, pulling membership data and applying a rule engine that enforces visit frequency limits, zone access permissions, and guest-accompanying rules in real time. Every entry and zone access event is logged automatically to a centralised dashboard.
Flow: Member or guest approaches entry -> Face matched against Shawman-enrolled database -> Rule engine checks permissions - visit limit, zone access, guest rules -> Entry approved or flagged -> Zone access verified at each area -> All events logged to dashboard in real time

WHAT CHANGED AFTER

Manual ID checks eliminated - Face recognition verifies every member and guest automatically at entry and across zones.

Guest rule engine enforced in real time - Visit limits, zone restrictions, and accompanying rules applied automatically with no manual oversight.

Zone-level access control operational across entire facility - Every area from sports courts to pool and dining verified per member type.

Complete member and guest activity log - Every entry, zone visit, and rule event timestamped and available for club management review.
